Champion Stronger Ethics Reform
B.J. believes that government breaks down when elected officials are too close to special interest and lobbyists. That's why he is going to push for stronger ethics reform by requiring more transparency in dealings with lobbyists.

Push for term limits so legislators are limited to running for only 3 terms.

If B.J. should have the great honor of serving you as your State Representative, he promises that he will serve no more than 3 terms, should he be re-elected.

Jobs and Economic Development
Provide proportional tax incentives for companies to bring their business and jobs to our community.

Pass legislation that helps entrepreneurs and small business owners get access to capital to either start or grow their businesses.

Resolve our water resource problems.

Do a complete review of the state tax code and push toward a tax code similar to what is envisioned for the national Fair Tax.

Restructure Government and Control Spending
Review all state agency functions to identify duplicative services in order to merge or eliminate certain agencies and functions.

Require more transparency in the budgeting process so the citizens can review the budgets and program spending for every governmental agency.

Provide further incentives for government employees to help control their agency's spending.

Restructure entitlement programs.

Protect and Improve Education
Promote review of teachers on a merit basis, and not necessarily on seniority

Increase local control of school systems and encourage parental involvement.

Provide immunity for teachers and administrators to avoid frivolous lawsuits being filed against them and the school system.

Reduce Crime and Gang Activity to Make Our Communities Safer
Fully fund the GBI Crime Lab to reduce the backlog of forensic cases and to speed up the investigation and prosecution of dangerous criminals.

Demand enforcement of laws against illegal immigration.

Support law enforcement initiatives directed toward community oriented policing to prevent young kids from joining gangs.
